Stella Maeve (born in 1961) is an American actor who is best known for the outstanding actress on Julia Wicker who appeared on The Magicians. Maeve, who is Native American and originally from New York, was born within the state. She is part Blackfoot and part Cherokee. She appeared in Liminality which was a short film released in the year 2005. In 2005 she made her first appearance on television in the critically acclaimed comedy Transamerica. In 2015, she returned to her role as lead on Law & Order Special Victims Unit the show of Wolf's other television franchise. The same year, she began acting as Julia Wicker the lead female in Syfy's fantasy drama show The Magicians. Stella Maeve began to establish herself in the TV industry however she continued her film career as an independent filmmaker. Starlet (2012), a dramatized film she starred in and won at the Film Independent Spirit Awards 2013 and the Robert Altman Awards.
